Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford is an American film actor, voice actor, and film producer born on July 13, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois.
Ford attended Maine East High School before going on to study at Ripon College. Outside of his screen career, he has worked as a carpenter and is a licensed aircraft pilot, pursuits that have run alongside his decades in film. He has also been associated with the environmentalism movement, and his work as an environmentalist forms a notable part of his public life beyond acting.
Over the course of his career, Ford has accumulated a substantial number of honors. He holds a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has received the Disney Legends award. Internationally, he received an Honorary César, recognizing his contributions as seen from the French film community, as well as an Honorary Palme d'Or. In the United States, he has been inducted into the California Hall of Fame. For his work in aviation, he received the Wright Brothers Memorial Trophy. His contributions to the screen have also been recognized by the Screen Actors Guild, which presented him with the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award.
Among the most significant distinctions in his career are the AFI Life Achievement Award, given by the American Film Institute, and the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award, both of which are presented to figures with long and substantial records in film. These honors place Ford among a select group of performers who have sustained prominent careers across many years in the industry.
Ford's roles as a film actor and voice actor, combined with his work as a film producer, reflect a career that has moved across multiple functions within the entertainment industry. His connection to environmentalism adds a dimension to his public profile that extends beyond filmmaking. The range of life achievement awards he has received — from the AFI to SAG-AFTRA to the Cecil B. DeMille — points consistently to a career measured in longevity and breadth rather than any single defining moment.
Quotes by Harrison Ford
Harrison Ford's insights on:

Some actors couldn't figure out how to withstand the constant rejection. They couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

You know you are getting old when all the names in your black book have MD after them.

I found out that drama was a fascinating exercise as a way to get out of my self and into somebody else’s head.

I try to preserve a certain amount of time away from the movies, so I don’t allow time to do those smaller parts that might give me an opportunity to do more seemingly ‘artful’ things. Although, having said that, I don’t feel any lack of noble purpose if I do a film that’s commercial.

You always have to know what the ambition of the scene is, what the purpose of that scene is in the telling of the story overall, so that you’re there to support the story.

Sometimes I try to improve the language, the lines, or the delivery, but I don’t ad-lib because I think that makes it really hard for everybody else involved.

I was never that much a focus of interest in my career. I’m aware of that now, which doesn’t give me a lot of pleasure.
