J. J. Watt
J. J. Watt is an American football player and television actor born on March 22, 1989, in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Watt was educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before going on to build a career in professional football. Over the course of that career, he received the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, a recognition given annually to the top defensive performer in the league. His contributions extended beyond the field as well — he received the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which honors a player's community service alongside professional excellence. In 2015, Time magazine included him on its Time 100 list, and Sports Illustrated named him its Sportsperson of the Year, two of the more prominent honors in American sports media.
Alongside his football career, Watt has worked as a television actor, giving him a presence in more than one area of public life. His profile as both an athlete and a public figure reflects the range of recognition he's picked up — awards tied to on-field performance, civic contribution, and broader cultural visibility. Those recurring threads, athletic achievement and community engagement, run through much of what the public record shows about him.
Quotes by J. J. Watt

A quarterback is always going to be the most valuable player on a football field because he touches the ball every single offensive play.

When I picture myself after football, it's down home, coaching high school football, just a relaxing, normal life.

You have to find the right situation, and you have to be in that right mindset where you can give everything you have to that. Because whatever I do, I want to be the best at. I want to be the best husband. I want to be the best father.

Everybody has a job to do, and you just know that every day you have to do what it takes to get there. Of course, everybody has those days where you don't feel like doing it. I'm just like anybody else in that respect. But there's a difference between not feeling like doing it and not doing it period.
