The great thing is he has so much more room to develop. The strides he made this year are just an indication of what he can do next year.

He brings a lot of toughness at both ends of the court. And the guys respond to him well as a leader.

Once he got a little taste of it, he felt like he was going to be tough to stop, and he was. Once he got that confidence, it carried right into the high school season.

They were pretty impressive defensively. They must have altered or blocked almost every shot we took inside. That was the longest team we've seen.

It took us a while to get our rhythm without Jansen in the middle. But I don't think you can say enough about our character, fighting back to take the lead.

They're strong inside. They've got a couple of 6-foot-8 guys, and they kind of remind me of Lake Marion. But they're beatable. They're not invincible.

You've got to take everything as a learning experience and build on it. Hopefully the younger guys can see now what it takes to be competitive in the playoffs and what's going on in the rest of the state.

We just had to relight the fire. We got a little lethargic for a while, but the kids got their focus back. When they're focused, they're at their best.

We would love to get a home game. And I think we will. I think we can go to Manning and Timberland and take care of business.

I think just getting out of the funk we were in and putting together some momentum was the big thing. Once you get a good taste of winning, it's a lot harder to give it up.
