Churches are the new radio. You have a kind of music here that engages tens of millions of people every Sunday.

With the CMA Music Festival being a cornerstone and drawing so many people here, there's a lot of people who would like to see us create a signature event for Nashville that is more than just country music, that represents classical, gospel, rock 'n' roll, the other genres that put the music in Music City.

Part of the reason is to build the brand of Music City and to have it have a worldwide reputation that June in Music City is a smorgasbord of stuff.

I don't think it's true he's not known here. I think he's known and loved. He's one of Nashville's treasures.

People will always need hope, inspiration and ultimately salvation, and gospel music provides a path to all those things.
