Judy Garland was an American actor and singer whose career spanned film, stage, television, radio, and voice performance across several decades of the twentieth century.

Born on June 10, 1922, in Grand Rapids, she was educated at a number of institutions, among them Hollywood Professional School, Hollywood High School, Antelope Valley High School, and Harvard University. That range of schooling reflects the peripatetic nature of a life spent working across multiple performance disciplines from an early age. She held United States citizenship and worked primarily in the English language throughout her career.
