Alex is very athletic and has the ideal physique for a soccer player. He is very fast, has terrific agility and good strength and speed. His dad played soccer and there is a lot of athleticism in the family.

Alex is very brave, very strong in tackling and reads the game well. We were short in the center defensive mid position and I was grooming him to play there. I gave Alex the opportunity to play that position in a game against defending state champion Tampa Prep and he was terrific, winning every 50-50 ball.

He's spotting his fastball and has developed a slider. He's a big guy and he's strong.

I'll talk about anything else with you. But I won't talk about that (winning district). There are too many great teams in this district to try to predict a champion. But we're just playing with so much chemistry right now. Everyone knows their roles, and that's really key.

It's never a negative for the teams coming through. What we're finding is success breeds success.

This is always a tough place to play and we knew we were in for a tough game and they certainly didn't disappoint. But I'm very proud of our players. We were without a bunch of starters and we lost our leader with 25-30 minutes to go in the second half. The young players showed some character.

(Evangelical) hustled all over the field. They shut us down. You've got to give them credit. They played with a lot of heart today.

We wanted a tough game going into playoffs. We wanted our 'A' game going into the playoffs. I felt in stretches we played as well as we did all season.
