They wash their hands. And if they handle patients, they wear gloves.

It likely was brought in from outside, because it is common in the community. But we will never know for sure.

This points out how contagious it is and how common it is in the community. You can go to any community, anywhere in the world, and find people with it.

Almost all of the cases have been in the assisted-living wing.

We ask facilities to notify us if 10 percent of their population is affected, or if there is some other unusual situation.

We are recommending that ill persons stay in their rooms.

That can take up to a week. It won't be definitive until then.

Our biggest concern is that we don't want to see this at other assisted-living facilities.

Most of the time, it's very mild, and it might be that they just didn't think about it. Or, maybe they were afraid of being sent to the hospital.
