Seimone Augustus
Seimone Augustus is an American professional basketball player and coach born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on April 30, 1984.
Augustus was educated at Louisiana State University, where her college career brought sustained national recognition. She received the USBWA National Freshman of the Year award early in her collegiate tenure, and by the time she reached her final season she had accumulated some of the most distinguished honors in women's college basketball, including the John R. Wooden Award, the Wade Trophy, the Naismith College Player of the Year award, the Honda Sports Award for Basketball, and the Senior CLASS Award in women's basketball. That accumulation of accolades across multiple seasons at LSU reflected a college career marked by consistent individual achievement.
Her transition to the professional game carried similar recognition. She received the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award along with a place on the WNBA All-Rookie Team, establishing herself quickly at the highest level of the sport. The most prominent single honor of her professional playing career came in the form of the WNBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award, which recognized her performance at the peak moment of a championship run. In time she also moved into coaching, extending her involvement in the game beyond her playing years. Her career as both player and coach was ultimately acknowledged with induction into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. Across her playing days, Augustus built a record defined by decorated performance at the collegiate and professional levels — a body of work that carried her from Baton Rouge through one of the more honored careers in American women's basketball.
Quotes by Seimone Augustus

I don’t think there is a city we’ve been to that someone didn’t know who I was. People know who I am before I touch the ball.

I know there are expectations, but I don’t let them affect mt game. I just play basketball.

I just like to play anything that’s competitive. If I’m not competing against somebody, then I might as well play something I can enjoy.

That’s the whole goal, to win the national championship. You can’t have a legacy without one.

I just never understood why someone else’s love life and who they love and who they choose to be with affects so many other people’s livesI never understood the whole point of opposing or hating someone else’s happiness.

I never understood the whole point of opposing or hating someone else’s happiness.
