I don't know if it's true or not, but I have heard that John (Roche) and Tommy (Owens) would not have come if we had not been doing well.

I look at Duke today, and North Carolina, too. They bring it every game, every possession. We had that same intensity. Coaches and programs that are always winning come out with a purpose, focused and intense. That was a McGuire trademark.

An indescribable feeling. I had never been involved in a game like that. Just 16 months before I had been in high school.

That was a special time in our lives in a number of ways. I was very fortunate to be in that group and to have played for Frank McGuire.
