He’d lived in the desert all his life, and he loved it. He was its child. It was his home.

There was no fear of sandpaper earth, no sense of danger from a bare-skinned spill, for the boy was a child – a six-foot, one-inch growing child who knew nothing of accident, injury, dismemberment, death – who would study those lessons tomorrow, thank you, but not today. Today, it would be sufficient to be wild and free.

The first quarter is where we pretty much lost the game. After that we played an even game with them the rest of the way.

The come-from-behind win in the first game was nice. We tried to make a comeback in the second game, but we'd dug ourselves into too much of a hole.

You can't be a part-time athletic director. This is a positive move for me. I'm a math teacher and a P.E. teacher. I want to get back to coaching and teaching.

I have to warn you that it does take a little time for those who have been bruised emotionally to recover.

I'm going back into coaching because it's something I want to do. I've been out of it for two years, and I feel removed from the kids. I've always felt coaching was my calling.

They hit four 3s on us in the first quarter. We weren't getting out and getting a hand in their face.

They'll do just fine. From what I can see, it doesn't matter who we put in there. They'll get the job done.

It's up in the air. I've prayed about it a lot and I'm just following my heart. I'm going to look at what's out there. It's just time for me to do this.
