I believe people run marathons every day of their lives in one way or another, and we need to remember to give ourselves the finishers' medals we deserve.

I thought it was a real opportunity to show people with multiple sclerosis that I'm completing, God-willing, my ninth NYC Marathon. That there is hope and that you get what you get in life, and it's what you do with it that matters,

I think that is such a tremendous gift. I know what it takes to earn that medal.
