Astronauts: rotarians in outer space.

I majored in physics at IU. But I took a whole lot of astronomy classes. I thought it would be great to have a solar telescope ... be able to see things during the day with the students.

Certainly the history of astronomy shows that every time we thought we were special, we were wrong.

Billions and billions.

My interest in astronomy grew from the play 'Space' that I did, where I had to learn where my character was from. I had to study the stars and figure where everything was and how I got here and all of those things.

I only watch National Geographic Channel, and also I have the app on my phone. I'm into astronomy and love to learn about new facts.

There's a wow factor here. I usually know within a second or two of seeing a picture whether its a sure thing for Astronomy Picture of the Day because I just say wow, what is going on there.

When he came to me wanting to do something in astronomy, I got excited. Astronomy is my first love in science. But he wanted to buy a big telescope which we couldn't afford.

Astronomy has always been a fascination of mine.

I'd say the fierceness of the debate illustrates that astronomy is no different to other sciences; we simply aren't always sure of the answer.
