Over the course of my life, many people have claimed that I am a good man. I don’t deny that claim. I am an equal helping of light and dark. Inherently, I know I am good. I also know that darkness resides inside of my heart. Thankfully, God sees through my walls and knows what resides inside. He has always protected me and others from that darkness, even when I was at my lowest.

Sometimes, it’s easy to try too hard, which often results in failure. I was guilty of that. I sometimes place such high expectations on myself that I fail, because I tend to believe I cannot possibly achieve what I’ve strived to do. That’s self-destructive thinking. I will stop doing that and focus on the truth that I am just as capable of achieving my goals as the next person.

Life is an inexplicable paradox. You can find some of the answers within, but not all of them. Many of the answers lie outside of our own understanding.
