You coach every player differently. With Vince, we discuss things a lot. That's the way he responds best.

You couldn't tell unless you were looking for it. But there was no yanking of his body, no drastic movements. He just went over to the other side to (tight end) David Thomas.

He's way ahead of schedule for a freshman. Football comes easy for him. He's special. He has a way of making his body smaller to get through some holes. He's more of a darter.

I'm comfortable with what they are doing and where they are at, ... Obviously things change if Vince is not in there.

I'm very humbled to be the recipient of this award.

I'm not sure he's always had his swerve on.

That's a legitimate question, ... but the answer is no. We were being up front with the players.

It's (Young's) decision. The worst thing that could happen to the University of Texas is for us to talk him into coming back and he didn't want to come back. He would lose that glow that you see. We want him to do what's best for him and his family. We'll support him.

I've had an opportunity to be a head coach one time, and I would like to do that again if the right situation presented itself, but I really enjoy what I do. What I do, and what Gene does, is really more fun than being a head coach. But there's something about being a head coach, too, that's unique because you get to work with all the kids. If it presents itself, it would be wonderful.

The next three matches will be a true test for us. They will tell us a lot about our progress. I am proud and the girls are tremendously excited about this landmark.
