I didn't see Angela until her second-to-last high school basketball game. I didn't know much about her until my student assistant at the time, Mandy Sterling, told me I had to see her play. Scott Eaton (NKU associate athletic director) had kids at Highlands, and he told me about her too. So I figured I needed to head over there to see her play, and I liked what I saw.

I didn't think they could get much better when they resumed the game.

In many ways, Angela is still learning the game, so those freshman minutes really helped her. I think she chose the right sport because she has a great basketball body, and she's strong and physical. We expect so much from her now, and she's really just now starting to play like we know she can.

I told them that the road to the GLVC title goes through Quincy. They're the defending champions until someone beats them.

We limited SIUE to just one shot on the defensive end for the most part, and I thought we did a very good job of keeping them off the boards. I told our players we needed to keep SIUE from getting offensive rebounds, and we did that.

We've been living and dying with our defense and trying to get some shots. Our defense has got to be there for us, and it was really good today.

We ask Healy to do so much, and I thought she just did really a good job. She's never satisfied, and I'm always on her. She had a great game. She's one of those kids, for us, that is really coming into her own at a time when we really need her.

We could not make an outside shot, and they were daring us to shoot from the outside. You make a zone look really good if you can't buy an outside shot, and there was not a lot inside because they dared us to shoot from the peri- meter. We had some open shots, but they would not fall.

I thought Michigan Tech played great. They were fired up and ready to go. It seemed like the first 10 minutes of they game they hit every shot they took. I was hoping they would cool off. Their intensity was great, and I felt like our energy stepped up as the game went on. It's the NCAA tournament, and people are going to come ready to play.

I thought that Katie Butler in the first half did a heck of a job in the post.
