I don't think there's a day that goes by that we don't talk about his situation. When he's drilling in the room, he's not drilling moves. He's wrestling a state tournament match every day in the room.

If you look at his frame, he doesn't look like Mighty Mouse.

They shouldn't have even been in the running with only taking 11. We're not scoring points in three weight classes and we told them, that's a bigger statement to win the darn thing with 11 kids.

We're training our guys to peak at the state series; that's been our emphasis and focal point all year, especially with a young team. Taking second is a hard thing to swallow.

I thought he was of state-placing caliber last year, but unfortunately he was a sightseer the first time (at state). Most kids are. This year, with the fact he's already gone there, we're hoping he'll go there with a new attitude and hopefully push for a winning position. I'd like to see him win the whole thing.
