Daphne Koller is an Israeli-American computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher born in Jerusalem on August 27, 1968.

Koller holds citizenship in both Israel and the United States. She was educated at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and later at Stanford University, where she also served as a professor in the department of computer science. Her research applies artificial intelligence to the biomedical sciences. In 2004, MIT Technology Review featured her in an article titled "10 Emerging Technologies That Will Change Your World."

Koller is one of the founders of Coursera. The recognition she has received covers a wide range of contributions: she holds a MacArthur Fellowship, the ACM Prize in Computing, the ACM-AAAI Allen Newell Award, the Computer Pioneer Award, and the IJCAI Computers and Thought Award. She is also a Fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence.

As a computer scientist, engineer, and university teacher, Koller has worked at the intersection of artificial intelligence and the biomedical sciences, and that focus on applying AI to biomedical questions runs through her career as a researcher.
