Neither seek nor avoid; take what comes. It is liberty to be affected by nothing. Do not merely endure; be unattached.

By abiding steadfastly in the Heart, a life that is wholly suffused with true love flourishes without any obstruction as one's own nature. Since the illusory association, the veiling ego, has died, this life of love is indeed the splendour of jñāna, the enjoyment of Śiva-svarūpa that shines with extreme calm.

The true essence of vedanta focuses upon subject rather than object.

The differences between East and West seem to have been continually on the increase, but this divergence can be said to have been one-sided, in the sense that it is only the West which has changes, whereas the East, broadly speaking, has remained much the same as it was in times which we are accustomed to call ancient, but which nevertheless are comparatively recent.

As we look into a clear night sky, we see just a fraction of what the universe contains. This applies to human behavior too. As we look at a person, we only see a fraction of what that person actually is.

… an Emperor says, "I will kill you if you do not come", and the man bursts into a laugh and says, "You never told such a falsehood in your life, as you tell just now. Who can kill me? Me you kill, Emperor of the material world! Never! For I am Spirit unborn and undecaying; never was I born and never do I die; I am the Infinite, the Omnipresent, the Omniscient; and you kill me, child that you are!" That is strength, that is strength!

There is no fortune greater than peace; there is no force greater than peace; there is no excellent tapas greater than peace; there is no immortal life greater than [living in] peace.

Actions are the louder expression of thought. The quality of thought is ordered by the nature of our inner belief and faith.

Having the Supreme Godhead as our source, our souls participate in the positive spiritual qualities of the Absolute. Both our souls (Atman) and God (Brahman) share in the inherent spiritual qualities of necessary being and existence, eternality, wisdom, beauty and goodness.
