Optimism and Positivity in Work

Affirm; "It can be done"; find a way to get it done.

If it has to be done, it must be best done.

We can do this, and we can do a dang good job.

I don't mind. We have lot of things to work on.

If you can do this with little just think what we could do with a lot.

I'm sure thousands of people in the world are taking on twice what I am attempting. I'm really looking forward to it all.

But I can tell you, we're going to have a lot of fun doing it.

This was always our work. We're just trying to get back what was ours.

Amazing. We all worked together and we knew what to do to get it done.

This is a good facility; you can get a lot of things accomplished. Even on a day like this, you can get something done.

Now it's up to us to go to work on it,

Challenges and Problem Solving

If we had directions, it wouldn't be life. It would be an assignment. Grunt work.

When I got in here, there was a lot that needed to be done.

We've got to get it done, one way or the other.

So many people were trying to help that it was a question of how one was going to manage this, ... We've managed to get a lot done today.

Our only choice is to work through this as best we can. Is this all working smoothly in an automated fashion? No, there's a lot of grunt work involved.

I remember saying, 'How are we going to do this?' ... 'How are we going to put this out?'

I have searched high and low to figure out what we can do with this,

It's better not to nail it down too precisely. Over the next day or so we'll have a better idea.

Everyone is really trying a whole host of a lot of things to try to do this. It's a problem that a lot of DOTs are working on.

It's not easy, but we started in April and May working on it. Right now we're rotating people around quite a bit, so we're not really getting the continuity we need.

This took a couple years to do and it takes time to do. We're doing it right so that we don't have anything that comes back and haunts us.

Planning and Strategy

The more we know, the deeper we will understand our topic, so it will be easier to implement it

Step by step, we are getting there. It has to be done in an orderly way,

We've got to find a way to get it done.

We said we would be thorough. There is only one way to do this job and that's to do it right.

We're going to try to use solid technique.

We have to be able to plan each step. There is a virtual army of folks working on it.

We need to link what's needed with what's possible.

Our approach at this point is to think big but begin implementing on a small scale, ... We want to get it right.

in its tiniest details so we can make the most of it immediately, set-up wise.

Collaboration and Teamwork

Too much work, I guess, to figure out each person as a whole instead of parts of this and parts of that.

All the work will be done by the Sierra Vista Rotary West Club.

We talked to our members about it and they said, 'This sounds crazy,' but the more work we do, it looks like we can pull it off.

We asked, 'Hey, if we were going to do this thing from scratch, what would we do?'

We're very pleased they're coming to the table, and we hope we can achieve a program that works.

We felt like we had to do something. It was so easy for them. You have to answer back. It was something that we had been working on for several weeks and had looked good in practice. It was worth a try.

We have the guys to make this thing work. We have a lot of experience here.

We're going to work together to see if we can do this.

We're trying very hard not to be duplicative and realize that we can't really do this work alone. We have to collaborate.

Amazing. We all worked together and we knew what to do to get it done.

The board is highly motivated to make this work.

Commitment and Hard Work

This is going to be an ongoing effort,

We've got a lot of work to do, plain and simple.

We've been working on this very hard for quite a while.

There's a lot of work to be done,

At the end of the day, ... that is probably the hardest work we have to do.

This is not easy, and frankly it's not a lot of fun ... but we are making progress.

We have a lot to do and little time to get it done.

It's just a daunting task and we've basically got about 90 days to pull it off. We're going to need a lot of help.

We've got to do something. There's not really a lot of options, so we'll try this.

I just want to go at it with a workmanlike approach where everybody's going to put on their old hard hat and dig in for 40 minutes.

This is something I've been working on for many years.

Continuous Improvement and Learning

We must develop knowledge optimization initiatives to leverage our key learnings.

There are a lot of lessons we want to learn out of this process in terms of what works,

We really have to chock this one up to a lapse in procedures.

We've had to start over in some cases and recreate data from scratch.

We've been working on it for two years but never did it right.

This is key. We need to be doing this.

We need to get this done. This is the only way in the short run to get it done,

I'm trying to make these guys incrementally better.

We've been thinking about this stuff for so long, but now we can actually do it.

Innovation and Creativity

This is great. We're already designing the terminal expansion and ramp expansion.

We're clearly after things that are going to significantly add to the top line. The magic question is, what do you do with it?

The really cool thing about this idea is that nobody has done anything quite like this before.

If you can do this with little just think what we could do with a lot.

For a while, that can is going to take the cake. This was one of the more elaborate attempts -- it required creativity.

We're trying to come up with something here that's very user-friendly.

This terminal complex works, no doubt about it. So we will replicate it and fix what shortcomings we've found here over the years.

I'm trying to make these guys incrementally better.

Time Management and Efficiency

We can't any of us do all we would like, but we can do our best for every case that comes to us, and that helps amazingly.

Joe has been wanting to do this for 20 or so years,

We have a lot to do and little time to get it done.

This is something that needs to be done quickly.

Our goal is to do it as quickly as possible.

This took a couple years to do and it takes time to do. We're doing it right so that we don't have anything that comes back and haunts us.

Challenges and Setbacks

There is less work to be garnered out there and this is a way to do it.

We tried it to do this a couple of years ago,

We're trying to get this thing solved, but it's slow.

That's just something I decided to do. We've done it for awhile. Something different.

I don't know how many more people have to do through this before they do something.

It doesn't seem like that's what (the board) wants to do now.

The process hadn't been as an easy as we had hoped, so we're looking at streamlining it further.

Everyone is really trying a whole host of a lot of things to try to do this. It's a problem that a lot of DOTs are working on.

Other

We've been trying to get this process in gear for a year.

We've been wanting to do it for a while, we talked about it more seriously after Peter passed away.

Oh God, I've got to do this today.

We're improvising a lot of this, which amazes people.

This is basically the way we do it in the fields.

We tried to do it ourselves, and after a while I realized we needed help.

That's a tremendous amount of work. That's a good example of what can be done.

We've been doing this for 10 years and it's been a hobby for a lot longer than it's been a job.

We're working on trying to get some regular testing done on our own,

We're moving as quickly as can on this thing. There's a lot of resources on this.

This will be sort of a brainstorming exercise.

We're being tasked with things that even I'm scratching my head at, and saying, 'How are we going to do this?'

Let's show them all how it's done, let's do it all imperfectly.

There's still a lot of work to be done to get it done.

We share the sentiment that this needs to be developed as quickly as possible.

This is how it's been. We've always had to do it. We just try to make the best of what we have.

We were able to get it done the last time, but having said that, I am so far out of the prediction business and have been for 10 or 12 years that I don't want to suggest I know things that other people don't because I just don't.

I really want to get this done for George.

This is what it is, a lot of work, a lot of time, something we've worked on for years.

I don't know yet. That's a work in progress.

We found that all the work that went into it was more complicated on the front end.

We're trying to move this forward to the next step, designing and removing this hot spot, to accelerate the whole cleanup.

This is what we've been working for, and we finally did it. It's indescribable.

Truthfully, we've been working behind the scenes a lot on this to get it done.

HE&R is figuring out how to make that work.

I'd like to get something done before we go through the process again.

We are working earnestly on all that as quickly as we can.

I don't know if they can get enough done here

I don't want to start commenting on any of this until we have a chance to carefully and thoughtfully consider everything. We're working on a resolution.

We're approaching this slowly and methodically. There's a lot of work to be done.

We're still trying to figure that out. We've hired experts to help us.

I'm sure there are folks out there somewhere who are working on that now,

This is the first property that we've ever created that has this comprehensive of an approach from the start.

We've got to break through the clutter just like everyone else, and this is a great way to do that.

We've been doing this as long as I can remember.

I don't see why we would have to do that, ... We've been working on this for close to a year, and we've spent millions of dollars for a seating bowl and other concepts. We can't start over now.

Today anything can be done - we have the techniques

That's it. There's not that much more to do. Most of the final touches have been done.

We have been working on that a lot lately in practice.

We have tons of files on this one.

This is a very good start but there is a lot of work to be done.
